Trump supporters show their support in Kalamazoo with 'flash mob'

KALAMAZOO, MI - Supporters of the Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took part in a "flash mob" at a busy intersection in Kalamazoo Wednesday evening.

The gathering was hosted by the grassroots group Michigan Conservative Coalition in collaboration with the Kalamazoo County Trump Campaign. It was one of many that took place throughout Michigan on Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

At the intersection of South Westnedge Avenue and West Kilgore Road, Kalamazoo's border with Portage, participants held Trump lawn signs, American flags and handmade signs, waving at passing motorists.

Franks Brooks, co-chair for the Kalamazoo County Trump Campaign, said he asked participants to be respectful and polite during the gathering beforehand. While some passing motorists honked horns in support, other passersby made remarks critical of Trump and those there who support him.

Portage resident, Anne Koomams, said she hopes fewer people will be afraid to show their support for Trump as the Nov. 8 election draws nearer.

Wanda Arbuckle, also of Portage, agreed.

"I hope that somebody gets a positive outlook on the people who are voting for Trump," said Arbuckle.
