BATTLE CREEK, MI - One teen is in custody after making a bomb threat against Lakeview Middle School that prompted the Lakeview School District to cancel classes district-wide Tuesday, police said.
Two other teens, both 13 or 14 years old, are under investigation as well, according to Detective Sgt. Tory Gilleylen of the Battle Creek Police Department.
Two separate notes were found in two different locations advising a threat towards Lakeview Middle School.
One was found in a bathroom at the school while the other was found at the residence of a student.
Battle Creek Police were made aware of the threats Tuesday morning around 6:30 a.m. Following police investigation, no bomb was found.
The suspect in custody is being held at the Calhoun County Juvenile Home. Battle Creek Police have made contact with the two other suspects and are working on the investigation.
The Lakeview School District was contacted for comment but has yet to respond.
